I’m sure we’ve all heard the phrase, “If you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans.” I know plans don’t always pan out, but I still that the planning itself is usually part of the fun.
I’ve seen summer bucket lists, 30 before 30 lists, baby bucket lists, and the like. My plans and dreams aren’t usually so organized.
Kevin and I did create a little pre-baby list, but we failed to complete half the items prior to conception. We’ve been able to cross off a couple items since, such as dine at 131 Main (our favorite steak place in Charlotte), but other items wouldn’t be so much fun for me now, like the Asheville Brews Cruise tour (soooo wanna do that).
We’re still trying to out while we can, list or not. The picture above shows the salad I ordered at Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar this weekend (another one of my favorite Charlotte restaurants). I recommend the bento box, which I couldn’t have this time since sushi’s off limits.
The other picture is the burger I got from Block and Grinder, a relatively new restaurant. My burger was only meh, but Kevin’s filet was very tender and delicious. According to the restaurant’s website, “Block & Grinder is a unique retail and restaurant concept specializing in premium beef as well as all-natural, organic meats and wild game.”
So, if these weren’t on the list, what is? I’ve started three mini lists here, nothing crazy, but as I said, planning is part of the fun!
- Drink List (once the baby’s born): 1st Beer, Dale’s Pale Ale & 1st Wine, Veranda Cabernet
- Race List (2014): a spring 10K and hopefully Rock n’ Roll half marathon in VA Beach
- Birthday Fun (this August): dinner at Basil (been wanting to go for a while now), and a prenatal massage… Kevin, take notes
Fun stuff! Can you tell the race bug bit me recently?
- Do you have any fun to-do lists going? If so, what’s on there?
