Holiday Fun

I know I don’t usually post on Sunday, but I wanted to share some weekend highlights.  Monday will be back to the daily grind, better portion control, and regularly scheduled posts.

Kevin and I hosted again this year.  It was a small crowd of my and his parents, mine staying for the entire weekend.

Even though I wasn’t feeding an army, I got a huge turkey anyway… along with extra wine.  It’s best to be prepared.

I didn’t burn anything, and no one experienced travel issues.  I guess that means it was a success.  Extra leftovers were an added bonus.

I’ll share links to the winning recipes once I can locate all of them again.  (Yes, I realize this is the actual point of Pinterest.  Perhaps I should use it productively instead of just clicking around for funny cat pictures.)

We wrapped up the weekend with Black Friday shopping and football.  ‘Twas fun.

  • Are you as big a fan of leftovers as I am?
  • Did you shop on Black Friday?

I don’t use Pinterest correctly either. Fail.

You’re awesome for hosting such a beautiful meal though. And I LOVE leftovers!

  2. It looks like you had a great weeknd!

Leftover turkey is the best! I like getting a massive turkey so that I can make sandwiches with it for the whole week after Thanksgiving!

  3. Hahaha love the e-card! Sounds like a great holiday. We made sure to have extra wine, too. Necessary.

  4. Hey! New to your blog here :)

hahaha I LOVE that – WHY is it that diets never start on any other day except for Monday??
    Have a great day!

  5. Thanksgiving leftovers are probably some of my favorite ever. Love the combination of turkey and cranberry sauce. And I actually made it a point to stay away from the malls on Friday because I’m not crazy about long lines and crazy crowds. I didn’t think that Black Friday would make it up to us here in Canada, but the malls were insanity.

Really? The mall was actually quite tame near me. Black Friday has really taken a nosedive here since every store now offers 1000000 lame sales instead of 1 or 2 killer deals.

  6. Sounds like a successful Thanksgiving to me! I always worry I’m going to mess up a dish. No Black Friday shopping for me this year. I just didn’t have the energy to deal with crowds.

  7. Lots of turkey and wine are all you need! :)

  8. LOVE leftover turkey sandwiches.
