WI*W

by Tiff

WI*W = What I {Blank} Wednesday

What I Worked Wednesday: I did a killer 40-minute elliptical workout yesterday.  I was panting, sweating, and blasting the Halloween candy from my arteries.  I also did abdominal work.

What I Wore Wednesday: I finally drug out my favorite work skirt.  I adore tweed, so I was naturally drawn to this piece.  I really love the fit though, which is a slim pencil most of the way down with a trumpet bottom.  The skirt goes well with my buckle peep-toe pumps.  Sadly, nothing goes well with pantyhose.  I had a run by noon.

What I Ate Wednesday: Finally- the yum stuff!
I’m back to my three-part breakfasts, but I’ve changed it up a bit.  I think my muscles will be pleased.  I have half a small green apple pre-workout.  Post shower, I have the other half of the apple on an English muffin with peeb.

I’m eating on the way to work instead of at the office.  The hour-long commute plus the time it takes to shower isn’t very good for muscle repair. I also “needed” a skinny latte around 10 a.m. yesterday.
Lunch Monday and Tuesday was a salad with light TJ’s champagne dressing and 3 Indian pumpkin bakes.  They’re just canned chickpeas, some canned pumpkin, & spices whipped around in a food processor then baked.  They fall apart easily, so they’re not recipe-worthy, but they taste good!

My belly runneth over with snacks yesterday.  I had a lil’ leftover Halloween candy, an Eat Think Smile bar, and a few crackers with cheese. (mostly unpictured)  Despite all the hormone-driven snacks, I kept my eats to an almost respectable 1615 total calories.

For dinner, I used the remaining pumpkin from my pumpkin bakes to make a barley n’ chicken dish with raisins and ginger.  I may or may not post a recipe in the future.

Due to all the chocolate from the afternoon, I managed to skip dessert after dinner. {insert sad face here]  That’s okay – there’s always tomorrow!  Be sure to check out other great meals, foods, and WIAW recipes at Peas & Crayons!

  • Do you have a lot of Halloween candy still lingering about your office/house/classroom?
  • Do you use pumpkin in your kitchen?  If so – sweet, savory, or both?
