Today you’re in for another What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) post. Yesterday wasn’t a great day for me, and although I’m ashamed to admit this, I attempted to find comfort in my snacks. I totally don’t recommend this behavior, but at least I’m honest, right? (Also, at least I had a good workout in the morning!.)
Breakfast began with a peeb covered rice cake. My recovery meal is eaten a couple hours later at the office (also not recommended).
My oats = 1/3 cup oats, ¼ cup water, 122 ½ cup pumpkin, ½ tsp ground flax, a few shakes of pumpkin pie spice, and 15 g of walnut pieces (It’s pretty much a hot bowl full of fall.) This meal has vitamins, fiber, protein, fiber, healthy fats, and more fiber.
Lunch is a non-boxed bento box. Search for “bento box” online, and you find some unique lunch ideas.
I find Triscuits to be a fairly respectable cracker, so I brought 7 of the “Reduced Fat” variety. They seem to have relatively wholesome ingredients, especially for a big-name product.
I ate my Eat.Think.Smile bar a little too soon. **Not Pictured** Therefore, I got hungry again and found comfort in Mister Snyder.
Last night’s dinner was a simple salad with lettuce, 1/2 a chicken breast, dried cherries, and Trader Joe’s Light Champagne Dressing.
Yeah… it was one of those days. You might have had a rough day if you eat flax tortilla chips with a spoon…
Here’s a to-do list for you:
- Come back tomorrow for a cool giveaway.
- Check out Peas & Crayons for other great meal ideas.

Ha, comfort eating for me involves a lot more cheese, usually some sort of cake too. And then some cheese cake on top of it. So I don’t think you need to feel guilty at all!!!

Lunch was pretty boring yesterday, but my breakfasts have been DELISH! I’ve been adding pumpkin again to every meal and it’s AWESOME. It’s the little things. Never seen someone eat tortilla chips with a spoon. Pretty funny! Hey it happens to the best of us and the best thing you can do, is just start clean the next day.
Happy Hump Day!

I love doing the bento box type meal. I do this right when I shop, because I want a little of everything I just bought, and then right before I go again to finish off what I have.
Today will be a bento box type day .. it’s a make shift salad with arugula, turkey, nutritional yeast, grapes, and tomatoes. I need to get to the grocery!

I luuurv pretzels. Good snack choice
And lunch today was some casserole and an apple. I have a feeling it wasn’t enough–if only my office building had a vending machine, pretzels included.

This was the healthiest looking option in the machine. It was still better than eating my arm off!

I think you ate super healthy all day! I was expecting candy, greasy chips or cheese! I’ve never had a bento box meal and haven’t even heard of it! I’ll check it out on google. Today lunch is going to be greek yogurt with almonds, honey and chia seeds! I can’t wait for it, I’m starving!!! Only one more hour!

It could have been worse! I wanted pizza but was feeling half healthy. The hubs was feeling half healthy too, so two halves made us agree on a healthy dinner.
October 26, 2011 at 3:38 pm
Ha ha! Snacks are the best way to get through a rough day! Even though what you ate can hardly count as snacks! It all looks super healthy! And flax tortilla chips sounds delicious

Obviously its been too long, love the new blog look and i adore the hair!
Spoon on chips is classier then emptying it over your face like i do

This is a total blogger-dork comment, but I love that you have a banner for World Vision!!
And your Wednesday food looks delicious, too!
