Yesterday was a loooong day. Work was pretty lame, and I was feeling pretty cruddy. I woke up with a sore throat, so I skipped my planned tabata workout. I still completed some pilates though, and with my free time, I made coffee and banana oats.
I wish I could say the warmth from the oats n’ coffee helped my throat, but I didn’t. I still carried these to the office.
For dinner, I went for the standard, chicken noodle. (BTW: Lots of cake was consumed for lunch.)
As you may remember from yesterday’s post, I had a beer after dinner. After writing the WIAW: Holiday-ish Edition post, I realized the beer was the most holiday-ish thing listed. My work calendar says that yesterday was the first full day of Hannaukah. Shalom, Y’all!
This beer is a He’Brew beer from Shmaltz Brewing, which is the creative genius behind Genesis Ale and Jewbilation. (So clever!) I went for Genesis, which is an American pale ale.

This is a very beer-ish beer. I tasted heavy caramel malts, but there’s also a punch of bitterness. It’s not too bitter, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to many beer newbies. There’s some yeast, but there’s virtually no hop flavor. If you’re a hop-head, skip this one… unless you want to buy it anyway for the marketing. As you can see, Genesis is a copper color with moderate-to-high carbonation.
Cheers… or should I say, L’Chaim!
- Do you eat a bunch when you’re sick? I seem to be stuffing my face.
- Ever had this beer? If so, what’d ya think?
