Muscle Cardio

Let me start off by saying, thank goodness for childcare.  Really.  E was having a heck of a day yesterday, and I was soooooo glad to drop him off at the church nursery for 1.5 hours.  If it hadn’t been a church function, I would have been tempted to bring mimosas…

He started out fussy, and then as I tried to squeeze a workout in during his first nap, he decided to wake up early.  I was attempting the latest Tone It Up workout (the #BikiniSeries started yesterday).  I finished my workout like this:

I was at least able to get my sweat on.  Although the Tone It Up plan recommends an elliptical, treadmill, spin bike, or stair climber for these intervals, I made my own at-home cardio.  You do what you can, right?  I followed up with their suggested strength training, but E only let me finish two rounds of it instead of three.


Later in the morning, I made croutons out of leftover bagels in the church kitchen with the other mamas while our babies chilled in the nursery.  (At least we’re a productive mom group, eh?)  E is always so good for his caregivers… well, except for me.  Ha.  Oh well, at least he’s cute enough to get away with it.

  • Ever followed someone else’s workout plan?  (ie: personal trainer, Tone It Up, P90X, etc.) I’m not sure that I’m going to follow TIU, but a week or two might be a nice change.

  2. What a good idea to use the baby as a weight haha! I haven’t left Tate with anyone yet, but we’re going out on a date next week so we’ll see how I do lol! E is such a handsome dude! I’m going to pin your workout for a future one:)

  3. That video made me laugh! small humans/animals do make good weights :-p and I’ve never followed a program to a tee, but I have P90x, Insanity and Turbo Fire, which I’ve done select workouts out of before.

  5. I try to follow the bikini series every year, but ultimately never finish, haha. I should give it a go this time around. i feel like it forces people to work out a lot, though, with 7 days of usual activity!

  7. I wanted to do the new TIU series but my leg is acting up so my PT gave it the thumbs down 🙁 Do an extra burpee for me lol

  8. Using babies for weights is the best kind of weights! I swear my arms are more toned because I carry him constantly. Looks like a fun and sweaty workout!

  11. Hehehe hoooray for exercising mommas! When I jump around and do all sorts of monkey around, Selah cracks up and makes me laugh, which makes me run out of breath even more…haha!
