Checking In

Helloooooo!  I wanted to post Friday, but it didn’t happen.  Same goes for Saturday and Sunday.  Ugh… where has all of my time gone???

babyOh yeah, that’s right.  He’s a time stealer, that’s for sure!  He has thrown a wrench in my “schedule” lately.  (I use the term “schedule” veeeeery loosely.)  He was on a pretty steady 3-hour feeding loop.  (More on scheduling later…)

However, this little fella is going through a growth spurt, which is to be expected around 6 weeks, so we’re looking at sporadic, often 2.5 hour feedings.  Oye!  That’s not easy when it takes 2 hours to feed the little squirt.

***Side note: We’re still on mostly milk (supplementing with formula), but we’re also still pumping each time.  Come on little buddy; you’ve gotta get better at breastfeeding!

That leads to dinners like this.  (Amy’s frozen pizza – Yup, pizza on a Monday.)

pizzaIn other news, I sampled my first Christmas beer of the season this weekend, Rogue Santa’s Private Reserve.  It’s delicious!  I mean, it’s not “best beer ever” status or anything, but it’s really quite tasty.  Recommended!

beerIn the last bit of news, I’ve been trying to fit in walks when I can.  Stroller walks are going relatively well, though I still can’t walk very far or very fast.  I tried walking with the Ergo carrier this afternoon.  That’s a no-go, especially for a c-section.  Ouch!  Though I love it, I think I’ll stick to wearing it around the house.

walkBut even without much exercise or good eating habits, my body is still kind of bouncing back.  I can actually button my old jeans.  Okay, okay – they look horrific, and I’d never wear them in public.  However, they button!  Baby steps y’all…

So what’s going on in your neck of the woods?
