Coffee Talk

I feel like I’ve been sharing workouts, recipes, and bumpdates lately without actually making any time to just catch up on life.

Since I was up with Baby E half the night (how he manages to do this while still in the belly amazes me), I’m pushing back my workout, therefore giving me plenty of time to enjoy some coffee and a little chat.

coffeeSpeaking of coffee, this is what I’m drinking.  Target had their seasonal pumpkin spice coffee on sale (even decaf!), so I had to get it.  Side note, with pumpkin and boots, I think it must be finally be fall in the Carolinas.

Speaking of the Carolinas, I’ll be watching the Clemson game Saturday with friends from SC.  Given my limited maternity wardrobe and only two orange options, help me dress myself!  I was thinking of this dress with a denim jacket, but that seems to summery.  Would jeans and my tunic be better?

Speaking of fashion/beauty, I’m tired of feeling so… blah.  I get why Kevin’s not attracted to me these days, but a girl still needs to feel fancy every now and again.

cliniqueHere’s what I was planning on purchasing this month for after Baby E’s birth.  (Clinique’s All About Eyes & Lash Power Mascara and Philosophy’s Time in a Bottle from Sephora)  It’s too bad I just found out you’re not supposed to use anti-acne and anti-aging products  while nursing, not just during pregnancy.  Ugh… can’t catch a break.

philosophySpeaking of catching a break, mommy made me dinner last night.  We had a Southern girl meal without the men featuring stuff we like but they don’t.  In the mix: fried okra, acorn squash, cornbread, and beans.

dinnerWow… that was a lot of chatting on my end.  Now it’s your turn…

  • What beauty items are you crazy about right now?
  • Will you be watching any games this weekend?
  • If we were having coffee, what would you chat about?

oh wow i didnt know you had to avoid anti-aging stuff too! wow, the list goes on. that dinner your mom made looks sooo good! and if we were having coffee i’d have to compare notes on headhunters, and being unemployed and stuff :)

Love the jeans and tunic! LOL on your dinner. I had some girlfriends over and just went nuts at Whole Foods buying all the yummy things my boys won’t eat. ;-)

  3. I love the dress, the jeans and top are super cute too though! Dinner sounds great, I love squash and cornbread. I hope you have fun at the game!

  4. I love the jeans and tunic but also know that maxi dresses are SO comfy at this stage! I think wearing the maxi with a jean jacket would be just fine :)

  5. I had no idea you weren’t supposed to use anti-aging products while pregnant/nursing. Good to know for the future! I think you’d be good wearing the maxi with a jean jacket – sounds like the most comfortable, too!

  6. I’ll be watching the 49ers game on Sunday!
If we were having coffee, I think I’d just want to talk about your baby coming! But also maybe our favorite beers. ;)

  7. As long as you’ll be warm enough, I’d say go for the maxi dress and denim jacket! I know how amazing maxi dresses are in the 3rd tri. :)

I was up half the night with E… kid just wanted to party. Sigh. So I feel ya!!

I wouldn’t worry about using anti-aging/anti-acne stuff while nursing (actually, my Dr. said to not even worry about using it while pregnant either – it’s not like you are ingesting pounds of it) — but I am pretty lax when it comes to those things. That said – I got a sample of Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin Cream (http://www.sephora.com/ceramidin-cream-P382354) and it’s AMAZING. I haven’t gone full throttle with purchasing it yet (I’m trying to rationalize $50 on face cream), but it’s an option.

Love the maxi. I don’t know about you – but whenever I got to that stage of pregnant I would avoid pants as much as possible. Lol.

  9. I love the maxi and jean jacket look — assuming your weather is currently better than ours is, I think you’d be fine rocking that :) And if we were having coffee, I’d give you a big hug and tell you to cheer up — you’ll be meeting your little guy soon and everything will be more than worth it.

I want to try pumpkin spice coffee bad! I’m always jealous of people who can find it. It sounds so tasty.
I didn’t know while pregnant you were supposed to avoid anti aging stuff, I swear you have to avoid everything these days.
And how sweet that your Mom made you Dinner!

  11. Your meal sounds so Southern!
I had no idea about anti-aging and anti-acne stuff when you’re breast-feeding. Have you used that Clinique stuff before? I need to get on the eye cream wagon but don’t know what to use!
I think you look absolutely fabulous! If it’s chilly, I’d definitely go for the tunic and jeans!

  12. I think the maxi dress is cute, and also ridiculously comfy!

Do you know that I have never, ever tried okra?!

  13. cottercrunch says:

oh i love the southern dish, i am on my way! and you are precious in your Clemson. Keep sporting it!

  14. That dress is so cute! I don’t know what the weather is like for you all down there, but it’s been in the 90′s here in Virginia. (I’m trying to figure out where fall is!)

  15. Will that dress to me?! It’s adorable. I’m really loving Clarins eyeshadow – it’s the first one I’ve tried that doesn’t burn the shit out of my eyelids. I’m so sensitive!! :(

  16. I LIVED in maxi dresses during my pregnancies – so comfy and cute with my big belly hanging out! I say go for the dress!! (Although the tunic looks cute too!)

  18. I love the tunic! You look awesome! I just bought the Even Better concealer from Clinique and love it! If we were having coffee talk I would ask you when you were going to have your next baby.. Jk! People would ask me that While I was pregnant and I wanted to slap them.. :) have a great weekend!

  19. My mom and I do the same thing whenever we have dinner without my dad! It’s like ok, time to break out all the green vegetables! Lol

Love both the outfits, but the tunic in jeans is my favorite of the two!

I got some of the coffee on sale a few months ago…LONG before fall ever got here! Trying to finish it up now so I can try the candy corn one that I found last week! :D

  20. Love your dress! I’m sure Kevin is attracted to you. Even preggo you are stylin’ wayyyyy better than I am.
