Friday Five

Happy Friday the 13th! My Friday would be a lot happier if Kevin didn’t have to work Saturday and Sunday, just like he did last weekend. Boo!

I’m trying to refrain from giving his boss a piece of my mind. Who makes someone work 19 long days in a row??? Beware of crazy prego hormones!

Anywhooo… time to focus on other things, like these Five for Friday.

1. Kabocha squash. I think I finally tried it, but I’m not sure. I scooped this baby up at a flea market last weekend for $2. The outside and shape are kabocha-ish, but the inside was more like an acorn squash. Hybrid? Either way – I’m not going to complain about any squash that’s less than 99-cents per pound.

squash2. Sandwich thins. We have a love/hate relationship. What’s with the crumb things on top? They don’t add flavor or significant texture. They’re just messy. Really messy.

egg3. The whole job situation has finally hit me. At first it just felt like a bad dream – like I was just going to wake up and go in to work. Well… I’m not. I’ve found myself moping around pathetically, and I’ve gotta

cut-it-out4. I successfully made a blackberry cobbler. I tried to healthify one in the past and totally failed. This time, I went all-out… or at least mostly out. It turned out much better, which is good since this one isn’t for me!

cobbler5. I just heard back about a freelance article I pitched. Woohoo! I mean, it’s not published yet, so I shouldn’t get pumped. I’m just happy someone wrote me back with possible interest.

happyBTW: Designer Whey winners, I’m sorry you haven’t received the goodies yet. I just found out that the company expects to ship them out soon. Please forgive the delay!
