Weekend Rewind

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.  Coming back after a holiday is always hard, but coming back to a short week definitely eases the blow.

In case you missed it, I posted a 7-month bumpdate yesterday, so I think today calls for a little weekend recap.

Friday: After work, an afternoon walk, and some chores, I made this butter chicken recipe for dinner.  I revised parts, but I still recommend it.  Kevin and I then went out for just a wee bit to wind down the evening.

walkSaturday: We went boating with my parents and then watched the Clemson game with some friends later that night.  Gotta love lake time!  (BTW: Clemson won!)

familyboatingSunday: Kevin and I enjoyed a coffee date, church, and R&R.  To be honest, I was a little bored during the day, and it really bugged the crap out of me.  I really need to learn to embrace quiet times.  Luckily, we met some friends for dinner later that evening.

lavazzaMonday:  A walk, some lifting, a few chores, and dinner at my place with my parents.  Dinner was a bit too small (whoops!), but it was really tasty.  Love me sum’ brats!

  1. That sounds like a fun weekend! We went to Williamsburg, VA for a foodie event and it was SO fun!

  2. Hehe I can definitely relate to feeling bored if I get too much R&R. I actually think that’s one of the reasons I can’t get into yoga – my mind needs to constantly be doing something. And I spent most of this weekend out at the lake eating ridiculous amounts of corn on the cob and taco salads. No complaints here :D

  3. Looks incredibly relaxing! As was mine. Just me and my man in Montreal for a few days. Highlights include a visit to the Farmer’s Market and the Montreal Botanical Gardens!

it took me untiil AFTER the child to learn to embrace the quiet times…

  5. Yep, I’m guilty of getting bored with too much quiet time too. Sometimes I feel like if I’m not moving forwards, I’m moving backwards and I need to learn to just chill the eff out sometimes. :D

My weekend was great! We stayed home for once and spent a lot of time working on the house & eating fresh veggies from our garden.

  6. I get bored with too much quiet time too…we moved over the weekend, which definitely kept me busy. Fortunately, we got internet hooked up a day early, which helped prevent any boredom I could have ran into yesterday.

  7. Sounds like a nice, laid back weekend! I definitely have had times when I’m feeling bored when we have nothing to do. That always annoys me to because we rarely get quiet time, so I should be just enjoying it.

  8. Sounds like a great relaxing weekend. I am the same way and get bored way too easily. I am trying hard right now to take advantage of when I can just do nothing.
This weekend was low key for us too, one major accomplishment was finishing our nursery dresser and almost finished the nursery! So relieved to have it almost done.

I’m trying to take advantage of it too, but I fear I may not fully appreciate free time until I have absolutely none of it.

  9. When I get bored I feel the same way. I had a great weekend of shopping at the outlets, hiking with Ryder and friends, wine tasting, and going to the beach, but come Monday I was a tad bored after all my chores. I need to learn how to embrace quiet, too.

  10. Love coffee dates :)

We went hiking in Lake Placid…it was amazing!

  11. I go through phases where I can’t stand having nothing to do and then where I can totally embrace it. David seems to be able to always embrace it :)

  12. Coffee dates & church are my favorite Sundays!
