What I Ate Actually On Wednesday

Hello All!  I feel like I kinda’ ripped you guys off on yesterday’s WIAW post.  It was short and not particularly creative.

I enjoy reading What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) posts because I often find healthy meal inspiration, packable lunch ideas, etc. on other blogs.  I offered none of those things yesterday!  ha

In order to redeem myself and bring a little more to the table (no pun intended), here’s a taste of what I actually ate on Wednesday (and am eating most all week).

Breakfast: TJ’s ww bagel thin, light muenster cheese, egg, and strawberries

bagelSnack: TJ’s Greek yogurt and one sliced strawberry for texture

yogurtLunch: ww pasta, kale, sauce, and a little leftover eggplant from Monday’s dinner

pastaSnack: Odwalla bar to combat a sugar craving (These bars are tasty, but I wouldn’t buy them.  They’re 200 cals and only have 3g protein.  They’re a bit too carby for snack.)

odwallaSnack: 1/2 frozen banana, unsweetened almond milk, and chocolate Designer Whey Sustained Energy (more on this tomorrow… perhaps more for my readers too, wink wink)

proteinDinner: cobb salad with lettuce, light shredded cheese, bacon, avocado, corn, cucumber, hard boiled egg, and “natural” ranch dressing (soooo yummy!)

saladDessert: my beloved grocery store brand of organic chocolate ice cream

  1. Not like your original post yesterday was bad, but you definitely ate extremely good yesterday.
You reminded me how awesome bacon is in salads. Nothing like some added crunch.

  2. I do like WIAW, mostly because it gives me ideas for my own eats. That being said, I do -very much- like the looks of your dinner. Avocado, bacon, and cheese? That’s some pretty good ABC’s right there ;)

  5. I love WIAW – it give me ides! :)

I feel the same about Odwalla bars. If i’m going to have 200 cals, I need some protein to keep me full! I love Quest bars right now. Especially baked.

  6. WIAW posts just make me hungry for all these different things! Sometimes I like them and sometimes I dont- I guess it depends on the blog reading mood I am in that day.

  7. i think WIAW are interesting, i’ve gotten some great food inspiration from them! Like now i want to make that pasta dish!

  8. Mmmmmm that cobb salad looks good! I like the addition of sweet corn! And what’s wrong with carby snacks?! :) Carbs=energy haha!

  12. I definitely enjoy WIAW posts because it gives me lots of ideas of things I could make! Your breakfast and lunch sound especially appealing. Yum!

  13. I do love reading WIAW posts – I usually can get some really good ideas out of them! And adore the look of that salad…bacon makes everything better ;-)

  14. I want a avocado now … AND PASTA?! Wow. I actually do NOT like pasta but your pic got me craving it. and it’s only 9:30am what the heck is going on here?! haha

  15. I’d say there’s plenty of healthy meal inspiration to go around here! Your pasta and salad look absolutely tasty.

  16. I go through phases with WIAW, where I love it and then skip it. I’m back on the wagon recently, because I’m looking for recipe inspiration & I’m eating so different than normal for me. :)

  17. I like WIAW because they give me ideas for my own meals/snacks! So thanks for sharing! My favorite snack bars are definitely Larabars because they aren’t overly processed and are made with only a few ingredients. I like the nutty ones because they are filling and don’t have too much sugar that might make you crash.

  18. I love simple egg sandwiches like that…and the pasta and salad both look delicious!

  19. your pictures are spectacular, and your eats look even better!
