Thirsty Thursday with Zevia

Yawn.

Yup, that’s the post for today.  Later guys.

Okay… maybe not.  But this has been one energy-zapping week for me.  I thought energy levels were supposed to rise in the 2nd trimester???  They definitely have, but a few days this week have been especially rough.

Anywhoooo, so you may have noticed me posting a few pics like this lately on the blog, Twitter, or IG.

Zevia kindly sent me an entire case of goodies to sample and review.  Having never tried Zevia before, I was pumped!  Many of the flavors are caffeine-free (the caffenated ones are being saved for the hubby should he decide to try them), and all of them are calorie-free.

In a nutshell, they’re really good, but I don’t think I’ll buy them myself.  They taste like, well… stevia.  If you like stevia, then you’re bound to love these things.  I do really enjoy the strawberry, grapefruit, and caffeine-free cola flavors, but sadly, the one I was most excited for, purple grape, just wasn’t doing it for me.

zevia float

I’ve been trying to think of way to work these babies into mocktails for my pregger Thirsty Thursday posts.  However, it’s hard for someone who never drank cocktails to suddenly come up with mocktails.  After one failure, I just went with an old standby instead…

Zevia root beer float with organic ice cream!  (Yes, I indulged in a little dairy to make this baby.)  It was delicious.  Side note – Kevin got the tasting glass from the brewery in Amsterdam.  I think he needs to take me with him next time….

Also, I made these awesome chocolate chip zucchini bread muffins yesterday.  So good!  I’ll be back tomorrow with a new workout routine!

  • Ever tried Zevia?
  • Got any good mocktail recipes for me?

I love Zevia, I need to make a float – great idea!!
I want to try and perfect a mocktail for Mojitios, they are my fav and I am not sure summer will be the same without at least one or two ;)

  2. I’m not a stevia fan, it’s too sweet for me. I prefer to just stick to good ol’ regular sugar- except the occasional diet coke. i love a fountain diet coke like nobody’s business :)

  3. I don’t mind Zevia, but it’s definitely not something I’m crazy about. I’ll have some every now and then when I’m really in the mood for something fizzy, but to be honest, I usually turn to kombucha in those cases.

  4. I definitely like to keep a few Zevia in the fridge for those moments where I want something sweet or fizzy. The Ginger root beer one is a particular favourite of mine! I love the idea of turning it into a float.

I actually loved the Zevia creme soda. Though I would KILL for that root beer float right now.

  6. I really like the caffeine-free cola flavor! In fact, I brought one to work with me today for a little treat! :)

  7. I’ve never tried Zevia, but I really don’t like stevia at all…so I doubt I’d like them! :(

  8. I don’t drink soda but buy the Zivia cola for my hubby’s Jack and Coke’s. I have wanted to try the Cream Soda though as it reminds me of being a kid :-)

The cream soda’s pretty good. I’ve never had any other cream soda though, so it’s hard for me to really compare.

I’ve never even heard of Zevia!! I’ll have to look for it!
