Pearfect WIAW

Hello! Here’s my “pearfect” WIAW. Organic pears were on sale at the grocery store this week, so I stocked up on them. Actually, I probably should have bought more!

Pre-workout: rice cake and Trader Joe’s pb (always a winner)

Post-workout: low-fat plain yogurt, 1/2 pear, fiber cereal (I mixed it before my shower so that it’d soften up by the time I ate it. Anyone else like slightly softened cereal/granola?)

Snack: chocolate chip pumpkin bread (I finally defrosted the last of it!)


Lunch: 1/2 Trader Joe’s wheat pita, romain and spinach blend, 1/2 pear, cauliflower, chicken, and pear vinaigrette


Snack: a couple almonds and the red lentil chickpea cakes I baked Sunday (made w/ oats instead of breadcrumbs and a couple other modifications)


Dinner: roast broccoli and baked sweet potato (I always save the best for last!)

Dessert: the last slice of pumpkin bread and a little cereal (As you can see, I’m still out of ice cream…)


  • Had any awesome meals lately?
  • Do you like softened foods that are typically crunchy? (I like flimsy, gooey nachos, moist cereal, soft granola… yeah… maybe I’m odd.)

    As usual, a great looking deal of meals. I’m not a huge fan of soggy food, especially cereal. I will only put about a tbsp. of milk in my bowl of cereal.

    Mmmm your eats look so good! I do like when my cereal softens, but sometimes I like it crunchy, too! Depends on my mood!

  4. I definitely find myself in the mood for soft cereals every now and then. Granola always has to be soft because of how dense it is, but when ti comes to the others, it just really depends on what kind of texture I’m craving at the time. Ever get those? Cravings for something crunchy/gooey/doughy? Maybe I’m odd… šŸ˜‰

  5. I usually like my cereal crunchy, but I love Mini Wheats that have been softened in milk!

  6. You should definitely buy more organic pears if they’re on sale again. Whenever there are apples or pears on sale we buy a whole bunch and make up some of my grain-free fruit crisp!

    I like thicker things like thick oatmeal, cookie dough, crispy cereal. Nothing soggy over here for me! šŸ˜‰

  7. Love a good pear! I do enjoy the crunch cereal brings, som are better soft, like Wheatabix, if you leave them sitting overnight, delish! Happy Wednesday!

  8. I have to have a little crunch in all of my foods so I think I’m the opposite. Brownies- nuts, cookies- nuts, pretzels are a love, crispy apples, no macintosh, etc. šŸ™‚

  9. Yes! I love to soften cereals slightly before eating them, especially in yogurt! Last night I had an awesome meal of roasted cabbage with some shrimp, asparagus and kabocha squash. Delicious!

So funny, because I have been pouring a bit of almond milk on my yogurt bowls lately to help get the cereal on the bottom (or the top) just a little mushy. šŸ˜‰ Although texturally, I tend to like most of my foods ‘normal’ when it comes to temperature, I always seem to like things that should be hot, cold…and cold things warm. [I don’t like ice water. I like room temperature water. I do like cold ice cream, though…]

    I seriously have some strange memory loss when it comes to pears, because every time I eat one, it is like I am experiencing this crazy flavor joy for the first time!

      I have that same memory loss thing when it comes to oranges. Each time I eat one I’m like, “WOW! I need to buy more of these!” haha

    I’m definitely a softened cereal fan – I can’t eat frosted mini wheats unless they’re soft!

  14. Delicious day minus the fiber cereal! LOL that stuff tastes like cardboard to me.

  15. I am the exact opposite. I want it crunchy in my yogurt. Hate when the cereal starts to get soft.

  16. Everything looks delicious! I like my cereal crunchy, but (I know this sounds weird) I like softened graham crackers. Random huh?

  17. ewwww….no softened food for me. I like crunchy cereal, and always drop crackers in my soup to eat right away. Nothing soggy for me! šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

  18. I am just the opposite with crunchy food…they need to be crunchy! If things get soft, I generally won’t eat them. šŸ™‚

  19. I swear, pears are SO good right now! I had one yesterday for a snack that actually made me stop mid-chew and “mmmm”! Haha!

    I will say that the gooey flimsy nachos at the bottom of the pile are always my favorite, but other than that, I’m ALL about the crunch! To me, soggy cereal is the worst…which I guess is why I usually pair (pear? Lol) my cereal with yogurt instead of milk!
