Ahhhh yes, more of the obligatory green is taking over your screen. What else would you expect after St. Patrick’s Day? I celebrated on Saturday instead of Sunday with a trip to the US National Whitewater Center. Fun place. Good beer.
We met up with friends, watched them dye the river green, and listened to Tim Reynolds. ‘Twas a good day for jamming.
Kevin and I hit up Mexican on the way home for dinner. Not festive, but yummy!
On Sunday, things were back to normal. “Sunday Funday” is not a term often heard at this house. Kevin completed a final exam while I cleaned out my closet. It was a huge undertaking!
The last bit of celebrating was done at dinner. I made Kevin roast cabbage, roast red potatoes, and corned beef. I’m no corned beef fan, so I stuck with pasta. Hey, at least the spinach was green, eh?
Now it’s back to workouts and veggies. Bring on the week!
- Did you celebrate St. Patty’s? Did you at least wear green?

Cute hat, and sounds like a fun weekend! We didn’t celebrate St. Patty’s. instead, we did load after load of laundry and caught up on sleep!

Sounds like a pretty typical Sunday. Stupid Sundays…

No celebrations for me up here. I would have liked to get out and do something, but the weather was nasty as heck so I holed up at home and did a lot of baking instead. Win
And ugh… I’m not looking forward to tackling my closet for spring cleaning!

Well if you ever bake too much, I can probably help you out with that…

Corned beef just isn’t a thing in Canada (at least not where I live) but I want some! I’ve only seen corned beef deli meat – I’m assuming it’s not the same thing?! All of the cabbage/beef photos floating around this weekend made me crave it.

I don’t really know, though I guess it’s quite similar. I never tried corned beef until Kevin and I were married, and I wasn’t a huge fan. Now I only make it for him once a year.

Hahaha I didn’t really celebrate and I forgot to wear green! I know, I know, I’m the worst haha

Sounds like a fabulous celebration. We did the majority of our celebrating on Saturday too. It’s just easier that way.

Agreed! Last year was great because the holiday fell on Saturday. I think St P’s and Cinco-de-Drinko always need to fall on Saturdays!

Love all the green! And I have to tell you–I ran in my compression socks for the first time last week . . . it felt sooooo good! Have a great Monday.
March 19, 2013 at 9:14 am
Yay! Glad you liked them. I was surprised at the difference I felt!

Beer is a good thing. No complaints!
March 18, 2013 at 12:11 pm
Good food AND good beer?? It does not get much better than that!
March 18, 2013 at 12:23 pm
how fun! To be honest I was kinda lame this year – no St. Patty’s day celebration for me – BUT I did get a new mattress yesterday! so THAT was exciting!
March 19, 2013 at 9:15 am
Oh the things we adults get excited about…. haha
That is pretty awesome though.

We were terrible- no green here at all! I’m glad you’ve got it covered for me.
Hopefully next year I’ll get my act together, at least for the 3yo’s sake!
March 19, 2013 at 9:15 am
Yup. Better get on it next year. I don’t wanna hear about anyone getting pinched.
