I wasn’t going to post today. I felt I had nothing to share even though there are about ten billion things running through my mind. My heart has been hanging a bit heavier than normal, and I’m dealing with a bit of stress.
It’s not like I have an overloaded to-do list (though I have initiated Spring cleaning… ughhhhh). I just have a lot on my mind, and when I really think about it, I can’t really do much of anything about it.
Hmmm, well this my friends is what the wise Dr. Seuss calls a slump (bonus points, name that book):
You’ll come down from the Lunch
with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then,
that you’ll be in a Slump.And when you’re in a Slump,
you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.
But then I did a little reading and coffee drinking this morning, which usually seems to help. I read this, and it just made me think of all the great things the Lord has done for me. I should find joy in all those blessings (though let’s face it, I think there are too many to count), as opposed to worry about the unchangeable.
Perhaps I’ve taken the first step to un-slumping myself. Sorry for the mushy post, but if it brightens even just one person’s day, it was worth it. Hopefully I’ll be out of any lurches and slumps tomorrow. Happy Friday Eve!

I’m sorry girl, I hope the unslumping goes quickly. I’m with you, yesterday was a not very good day. I’m trying to come out of it too, but it takes time.

Love Dr. Suess! His quotes can apply to so many different “adult” life situations. Hope your slump disappears in a flash!

I know, right? Kids love his rhymes, but adults love his wisdom… well… and maybe his rhymes too.

sharing what’s on your heart is important! And then giving it to God. Seek his comfort. Love those psalms. Hugs friend

I’m sorry it’s a bad day for you… (or time, in general). I hope you feel back to yourself very soon and that all is well! xoxo

Oh the Places You’ll Go….and this slump, too shall pass.

I love your way of un-slumping. Sorry to hear that things aren’t going all that great at the moment, but just try to keep in mind that these times, although unavoidable, don’t last, and that better times are right around the corner. Big hugs.
PS – Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Isn’t it great how poignant Dr. Suess can be? I love reading quotes from his books, even now, as an adult. Hope you are moving out of the slump, and heading into a weekend of joy!

I hope whatever you are going through works its self out soon!

I definitely think you’re taking the first steps to get out of your slump. Sometimes it’s easier said than done too of course. And when you realize that most of the stuff that’s dragging you down isn’t totally controllable, I think that’s a good start. So often I think we spend way way too much energy worrying and fretting over things we can’t control. In turn, we miss out on what’s in front of us (or at least I know I do).

I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling so great. I get in those slumps from time to time, and recognizing my blessing really seems to help me. I hope you feel better soon! <3
