I know, I know… this linkup is What I Ate Wednesday, but today features a bit of pre-Valentines sweets. Therefore, this is actually WI{Shouldn’t Have Eaten}W. I guess it’s not soooooo bad considering I have no plans for the real Vday. Kevin has class, so I won’t be gorging myself on chocolates going out to eat.

Post-Gym: protein oats with a sprinkle of cinnamon, chia seeds, and 1/2 banana (always a win)
Snack: a few raw almonds
Lunch: 1/2 TJ’s pack of eggplant punjab, millet, and baby spinach
Snack: not one, but two cupcakes at an office party (I had no food guilt from the red velvet cupcake, but the plain and kinda’ crappy one I ate later in the afternoon was a whole other story. It wasn’t worth the calories, and it gave me a big headache an hour later.)
Dinner: spaghetti squash, sauce, and a little nutritional yeast
Protein was lacking today, but sugar was sky-high. Oh well… it happens. At least it was leg day at the gym, eh? If you’re enjoying any special holiday treats, I hope they’re worth the splurge delicious!
- Enjoyed any Valentine’s treats yet?
- What’s your favorite cupcake?

I’m sorry the second cupcake wasn’t any good…. but girl, don’t let those make you feel like you had a poor day of eating. All your other meals are nutritious & healthy

Your lunch sounds like a tasty creation! Can’t wait to finally be able to find fresh spinach around here again!
Don’t blame yourself for the cupcakes! Sorry the second one wasn’t pleasing your palate. Sugar-wise, though, I don’t think you should feel guilty. I’m having at least an ounce of dark chocolate along with nibbles of chocolate chips or granola every day if that makes you feel better
. Aside from that all of your other meals seem to have been super healthy so don’t worry!

It seems to be a sugar or protein thing with me too. When one is low the other is high. I guess that doesn’t help with crashes and all of those sugar-induced headaches.
I just hope you are feeling better after that last cupcake. Today is a new veggie-filled day!

Yes! You couldn’t be more right. Bring on the broccoli! haha

What a bummer that the cupcake wasn’t good – booo! I love nooch and spaghetti squash.. I’m having that for dinner tonight!:D

That’s too bad the cupcake wasn’t worth it! I hate when that happens! I’m saving my treat until tomorrow. I’m baking Spiced Carrot Muffins for the office tomorrow. I hope they are worth the calories! haha.

They sure sound delicious!

Red velvet cupcakes are always worth it
I met a friend for happy hour last night and I guess the bartender felt like treating us because our $4 glasses of house wine were at least 10 ounce pours. Woosh! Good times though

Lucky you! wine > cupcakes

Yum for Red Velvet cupcakes!!! I haven’t started on the VDay Treats yet, it’s a slippery slope. I think we’re doing dinner at home tomorrow so thinking of picking up a piece of carrot cake from Ruth’s Chris for dessert, yum! Happy Valentine’s Day Eve!

Those cupcakes look amazing, the frosting would have rendered them completely irresistable to me!
February 13, 2013 at 11:57 am
Ugh, I hate when I indulge in something and it turns out to be not good
At least the Red Velvet was a win!
February 13, 2013 at 12:00 pm
Crappy cupcakes should be outlawed… seriously. I hate feeling like what I ate wasn’t worth it, but don’t beat yourself up over it because you eat healthy and you’re super fit, so one cupcake isn’t going to make a lick of difference.

You know, I actually am not a fan of the typical vday treats. Too overly sugary for me. Now donuts I can get on board with – that’s the most recent indulgence.

Once I get the taste of cupcakes in my mouth, it’s all downhill. Rule of diminishing return! But it’s a holiday
February 13, 2013 at 2:41 pm
Hey, if you’re going to do it, do it on leg day!!
February 13, 2013 at 2:46 pm
You know, it’s funny, I’m not a huge fan of cupcakes. I’d rather eat chocolate. Love the squash/sauce/nooch combo for dinner . . . . sounds good. I need to get my hands on a spaghetti squash!
February 13, 2013 at 4:15 pm
That’s the sad part is I’m not a big fan of them either! haha I think I just liked the red velvet because of that cream cheese frosting.

I was so surprised to see so much healthy food in this post after reading it’s title! Don’t come down too hard on yourself for splurging a bit!
