Hello! Welcome to a new week. I hope you had a good weekend. Kevin and I left town to visit his parents. Though I packed one healthy breakfast and a few healthy snacks…
I was sure to enjoy some other goodies too.
I enjoyed more than food. We had fabulous weather here in the Carolinas. Pinot grigio on the porch made for a very relaxing afternoon. (For my snow-covered readers, stay safe!)
Now that you know a bit about the food and drink of the weekend, I want to mention the fitness. I’ve started this workout program, and I like it so far. The leg days are the hardest for me, but given articles like this about running/strenth/hip & knee pain, I know I need to push out of my comfort zone. (Glad I’m not the only one who thinks my hip issues stem from my knee issues…)
This workout includes Saturday workouts, which can be tricky for me. At least the Saturday routine is full of body-weight moves that don’t require me to hit the gym. Given the travel situation, I transformed it into this routine Saturday.
I wasn’t sore afterwards, but I sure got sweaty! I did two sets of the circuit on the left and then three sets of the circuit on the right.
- Is it harder or easier for you to squeeze in workouts on the weekends?

I usually do all of my really long runs on the weekend. It is the only time I have time for them!!

True – weekends are made for long runs, walks, hikes – especially if there’s nice weather!

Looks like a great circuit to try! Typically, it’s easier for me to squeeze in workouts on the weekend, but depending on what comes up that could change at the drop of a hat. Have a great week!

The weekend is definitely when my longer workouts happen. I also just enjoy them a little more because I don’t feel so “rushed” in the gym while I’m there, whereas the weekday mornings are a matter of OMG HOW MUCH CAN I DO IN 45 MINUTES OMG.

I cannot wait to get back into the workout scene

I’m usually good about going on Saturday morning (usually) but Sunday is harder. I tend to want to relax and it’s harder to force myself to do it.

I hear ya – Sunday is a no-go in my house, except for maybe a long neighborhood walk from time to time.

I’d like to say it’s easier but I always find myself trying to squeeze every errand that I didn’t do during the week into the weekend making it that much harder to squeeze in a workout. I SERIOUSLY need to become a morning person..ASAP!

Even though I’m a morning person, I like to get up early on Saturday just to sit around longer in my pjs with my coffee. I should really be more productive during those times!

I have to say that I’m incredibly jealous of the nice weather. I shouldn’t complain because I didn’t have to deal with Nemo, but I would love a little bit of warmth around these parts. How close is Spring? And I actually find that I have an easier time fitting in workouts on the weekend because I don’t have to worry about working around work.

I keep trying to push Spring out of my mind so that I don’t get my hopes up, but I’m sooooooo ready!

Nice circuit! I find it harder on the weekends because I am constantly in between my house and my bfs. I run every Sunday though, outside of that it is rare to squeeze in a work out!

I think Sunday Runday sounds lovely!

I bet that workout would be tough!
The weekends are hard sometimes because my boyfriend and I live an hour away, but I always manage something. I find it hard not to do anything when I have more free time than usual! Especially when I’m marathon training! All long runs are on the weekend!

I bet – I couldn’t imagine running even half that distance M-F!
