Nope, the title of this post isn’t a joke. I actually walked up to two bars on Friday; the first was the pullup bar. I did three real chin ups! After a quick rest, I did two nearly-real chin ups! The video is for my mom who never thought I could do it… I didn’t either. ha
Side Note: The chin ups thing took courage. Do you know how long it took me to even attempt one? Everyone at the gym has seen my failed attempts… many times. For instance, I gave it another go this morning, but my arms were not having it!

Anyway… back to my weekend. Saturday started with a chili run and ended with a warm evening of delicious eggplant parmesan rollatini and board games with two other couples. I was too shy to snap a pic after it had actually finished baking…
Sunday Funday included pumpkin pancakes, a sock bun, and a Super Bowl party. I brought my slow cooker buffalo chicken shoved into whole wheat pitas. By the way, I’m updating that buffalo chicken recipe tonight. Having finally made the recipe a second time, I think it was due for a few revisions.
I’m still not sure about the sock bun, but I was definitely digging those pitas!
- Anyone else got a crazy week ahead of them?
- Would you serve your guests eggplant? I almost didn’t, but it went over well- thank goodness!

Your bun looks cute! I have a crazy week of graduate classes, an internship, and working full-time–is it bad that I’m used to that schedule by now?!
February 5, 2013 at 6:57 pm
No – it’s GREAT that you’re used to that schedule. Just imagine how good it will feel when you finish up your classes and/or internship! Good for you.

I may start serving buffalo chicken, sloppy joes, pulled pork, etc in pitas more often. It was so much easier to eat! haha

Holy.wow. Way to go on those chin ups! I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even be able to do one, as my upper body strength is pretty sad

I suck at pull-ups, it’s embarrassing. Way to go you!
Love your hair – ahh, so long and lovely.
That eggplant recipe looks absolutely delish.

My hair is ALMOST long enough to make a sock bun, I am envious…I love eggplants but only make them for myself, I never understand why most people are so against the eggplant! I like to slice them really thin, oven bake them until crispy and make chips with some sea salt! So tasty, you have to try it! Love + Shine CourtStar

Agreed – the thinner the better!

Wow, awesome job on the chin ups – very impressive! Crazy week ahead over here, too. Plus it’s finally snowing a ton in Chicago which means that it’s going to take even longer to get anywhere…I’m ready for spring!
February 5, 2013 at 6:52 pm
We didn’t even get any snow this year. Granted, I don’t want Chicago-like snow, but a day or two would be cool!
