I’m baaaaaack! One must be pretty sick to be too sick to blog. Ugh. Being sick isn’t as cool when you’re an adult. It’s cool as a kid because you can drink soda through a straw, skip school, and watch your favorite movies all day on the couch. Bonus points if your mom cooks you mac n’ cheese. But adults have these things known as responsibilities…
Enough complaining, onto happy thoughts. I’m feeling better, so hopefully I can still see this girl tonight. In order to get my mind off the fact that I’m all out of DayQuil, I’ve made a list of five good things. Five for Friday!
1. Veranda Cabernet Carmenere, 2008. Oh man, this stuff is good. If you like super smooth yet still full-bodied cabs, give it a try. Kevin and I picked it up from Total Wine for $17.99 (normally over our budget, but a nice gift to ourselves).

2. Modern Family. Kev and I aren’t normally sitcom people, but I am kind of obsessed with this show. We’re going season-by-season through Netflix, and we’re just wrapping up season 3.
3. New { Old } Protein! I’m saving the Sunwarrior for baking, smoothies, and banana soft serve, but I finally resupplied my beloved whey for protein oats. Yessssss!
4. Pets. Pets are great. They can definitely tell when we’re not feeling well. Leia was a trooper with me this week.
5. {Sorta} Red Lipstick. I gave it a whirl at the office this week. It’s pretty bold for me, but I went for it anyway. Though I’m still not 100% sold, it still might make a repeat appearance for date night.
- What’s one (or five) of the things brightening your Friday?

I like the red lips! I’m always paranoid it’s smeared onto my face and teeth, though. Hope you’re feeling better & that it doesn’t ruin your weekend.

Love that you are trying red lipstick. I pull off daring makeup looks as well as a five year old. My application techniques are about on their level.
January 14, 2013 at 8:53 am
Ha, if only we had the five year-old confidence instead of five year-old application techniques!

I love Carmenere!!! We got to taste it all day every day in Chile. That big, leathery taste is addicting.

I was able to work from home today – instant mood brightner! Have a great weekend, Tiff!
January 14, 2013 at 8:52 am
Nice! I hope you enjoyed it, as well as the rest of your weekend of course.
January 11, 2013 at 9:43 am
Ack! Sorry that you’re not feeling all that great, Tiff
There’s definitely some sort of nasty bug going around. On a happier note, I think that red lipstick looks awesome on you – it should definitely make a repeat appearance!

Glad to hear you’re feeling better. I had a nasty head cold after Christmas and I’m starting to get over it now with really healthy eating, no sugar, lots of vitamin c and d, water, and tea! It’s been a tough 2 weeks. haha. Now everyone at the office is getting it…:(
January 14, 2013 at 8:51 am
But a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.
Glad you’re feeling better too!

I haven’t seen Veranda Cab before . . . but we certainly love our full-bodied cabs around here. I’ll have to keep my eye out for it. Thanks! Happy Friday!

Glad you are overcoming the plague!
modern family is the best!

I am so scared of red lipstick. Every time I try it I think I look like a little girl that played in her mother’s make up. I don’t feel comfortable and end up scrubbing it off. And then there are women that just pull it off so well. Not me!
January 14, 2013 at 8:50 am
I’m getting better about it, though I’m still not cool with hot-rod red. This had a bit of plum or something in it as well. Baby steps…
January 11, 2013 at 2:42 pm
I’m finally wrapping up a big project at work. Such a relief.
I’m glad you’re feeling better!
January 14, 2013 at 8:49 am
Nice! I bet that helped you relax a bit this weekend.
January 11, 2013 at 3:34 pm
We love Modern Family, too! Yuck- I agree. Being sick as an adult is miserable.
January 11, 2013 at 7:55 pm
It seems like everyone is sick! Glad you’re feeling better!
January 12, 2013 at 8:13 am
When are you posting hair tutorial vids?! Gorge.
Modern Family is the bestest, and yes how we can all relate to Phil and Claire.
Total Wine, one of my stops I always hit up on the weekend. I might splurge and give your rec a try.
January 14, 2013 at 8:48 am
Ha, you’re too nice.
Hot rollers baby!
