I rang in the new year in typical Tiff fashion: bbq, beer, and football.
I have to admit my bbq was excellent, but even succulent, smokey, sweet pulled pork couldn’t steal the thunder of my winning Tigers. Go Clemson!
With all that beer n’ football (as well as the other appetizers provided), I was really glad I got a run in yesterday. Check out my stats.
I ran 3 miles in 26 minutes and 29 seconds, and according to my Polar FT40, I burned 264 calories. That’s about 100 calories/ten minutes of running. Sweet!
I have really enjoyed this heart rate monitor, which Polar was kind enough to send me. The FT40 comes with a watch/HRM and a chest strap. Though you never forget about the strap, it’s never in the way or uncomfortable.
I wanted to test it in spin class on Friday, but that didn’t work since the instructor didn’t show. However, I spent 10 minutes on the Keiser brand spin bike before giving up on the instructor and putting in 15 minutes on the elliptical trainer. The Polar chest strap I was wearing signaled to both the Keiser bike and the elliptical. It didn’t really matter since I was wearing my watch too, but it was great to see my HR right there in front of me on the machine. Cool, right?
I was not paid to give this review, and the opinions here are my own. I’m really pleased with this product. If you were looking for a piece of gear to get you motivated to follow through with your 2013 goals and resolutions, I’d recommend this.
