How was your weekend? I hope it was good. I can’t believe it’s already Monday. How’d that happen? Then again, I can’t believe it’s already the second week of November either. Crazy.
I was in Target yesterday, and my eyes lit up seeing all the sparkles! I’m not ready for all this Christmas stuff, but I have to admit, if we’re going to look at flashy decor for two months, at least it’s pretty!
I love the festivities as much as the next girl, but holidays bring worries for a lot of people. Luckily none of my worries are serious enough to dampen my celebrations, but there is one Kevin and I have been discussing lately. Money.
Our budgeting discussions, mainly just recapping this year’s expenses and forecasting 2013, gave me an idea for a new Tuesday series - Healthy Girl on a Budget. Is that something y’all would be interested in reading?
Speaking of health… I kinda’-sorta’ followed this recipe last night, and this turned out to be a fabulous, healthy, vegan, affordable dinner. Score! (Two of my changes: significantly less oil, no zucchini, no eggplant, one bell pepper)
Speaking of dinner… the girls and I hit up 5 Church on Friday night. The salad was great, but my butternut squash pierogies were more like emanadas. Not bad – just not what I was expecting.
Cheers to girls’ nights!

No lies… the roommate and I might have done a little christmas crafting this weekend… I’m very dead set against not having a tree up until at least the week after Thanksgiving, but I guess it never hurts to be prepared.

It’s hard for me to get in the Christmas spirit, but I love a Christmas tree! I am also on a budget, so I’d definitely be interested!

As long as they don’t start playing Christmas music this early, then I’m all for seeing the stores decked out in holiday decor… it kind of makes me giddy to see all the Santas and reindeer
Plus, we’re already buried under tonnes of snow here, so it definitely makes things seem a lot more Christmassy.

Seeing Christmas stuff hitting the stores is making me so excited! I love the holiday season!
That’s a bummer that your meal wasn’t what you were expecting. I’ve had that happen to me a few times too. It’s so annoying when the menus don’t describe the food properly.
But at least you had a fun girls’ night!

It’s early, but it’s still exciting. There’s no denying that!
I’m eager to bust out my own Christmas stuff now.

I love Christmas things! I already listened to my playlist once last week. Can’t wait for it to be OK to do in public after Thanksgiving. And I would be interested in seeing a healthy girl on a budget series. Always looking for ways to stay healthy and frugal!

I’m trying soooooo hard to not turn on my Christmas tunes. Once we hit turkey day, I’m going for it!

Who doesn’t love sparkly things?!! I’d definitely be interested in the healthy girl on a budget series. I’ve been trying to watch my grocery/food budget lately while still staying healthy, so it’d be wonderful to hear your ideas.

How about healthy guy on a budget?
November 12, 2012 at 10:10 pm
I find it so hard to live on a budget! I don’t know why haha. I mean I have money saved but did you have do research on how much you should really have saved by the time you are like 30, 40, 50.. it is ridiculous! haha.

I know, right? There’s so much info and so many “what ifs.” Thank goodness I married a finance guy. haha

That curry looks divine! Cheap? Easy? Delicious? Sounds like a good meal to me. [Or a really bad R-rated joke waiting to happen.]
