I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty good, but it could have included a bit more R&R. As soon as I was out of work on Friday, Kevin and I started our slightly belated anniversary celebrations.
We hit up the mall and then Cafe Monte. We only went because I had a Groupon, but I’m so glad we did. The restaurant offered incredible food, a fabulous atmosphere, and friendly service. I devoured my rich chicken and mushroom crepes, and of course, wine was a nice touch.
On Saturday, I sanded furniture all.freaking.day. It’s so exhausting! Before showering up, I had a little me time in the driveway.
Clemson didn’t play this weekend, but Kevin and I still managed to plan our Saturday night around football. We watched the LSU vs USC game to cheer on fellow tigers. (Try not to judge me on the Shocktop. It was on special.)
I was just as busy Sunday as I was Saturday. I primed and painted all the sanded furniture, hit up the grocery store, and cooked this wonderful dinner. It’s the second time I’ve made this Veracruz-style tilapia, and I still recommend it.
I think I need a weekend from my weekend…
- Did you get to recover over the weekend?
- What was the best thing you did?

We watched a ridiculous amount of football this weekend, too, even though Mizzou did awful and the Bears didn’t play. Gotta support the cause, right?

Yup. Football season only comes once a year ya know!

Shocktop gives me a wicked headache, but it’s so darn tasty.
Dawgs were off too, but glad to see the Tigers as well!!

I had a pretty low key weekend. But this upcoming weekend is going to be packed. We have a bunch of family visiting.
Your dinner looks great!

My weekends are alllllways packed. My boyfriend and I (each with a kid) live an hour away from each other so we’re always running back and forth to try and see everybody.
Despite the running I had two really great runs (total of 11 miles) this weekend and got some time to set up for the week and relax yesterday evening.

I feel ya, I need another few days off!

My weekends always seem to slip away without enough R&R… so much to do, not enough time! I laughed out loud when I read your comment about Shock Top – too funny!

I got to recover yesterday, but Saturday was rough. I basically spent the day raking leaves and cleaning up my parents’ backyard, and I tell ya… yard work is no freakin’ joke. At least my mom made it up to me by baking some apple cake on Sunday though

I spent my weekend making Nutty Butter. And then recuperating from making so much Nutty Butter.

It was so good! It makes me wonder how many amazing CLT restaurants I’m missing since we so rarely eat out.
