It was nearly sweater weather here yesterday. It’s cooler than average, but it should be back up to normal by this weekend. I was definitely happy for my soup lunch, afternoon hot tea, and sweater blanket .
Speaking of sweaters… I know you all have seen workouts for “tank-top arms” and “strapless dress shoulder” workouts. They’re catchy titles, but that doesn’t mean we all just frump around on our couches all winter. Don’t let all that summer sweating go to waste. No one says you can’t still have hot arms under your cozy sweater.
Here was the workout I did Friday as part of my new routine. I liked it, so I’ll be doing it again this Friday as well. I mainly stuck to three sets of twelve for most exercises, throwing in pyramid sets or twenty-ones for the barbell curls.

I hope you like it. If you try it out, be sure to let me know what you think.
Oh, and with comfy sweaters comes comfort food. I made that awesomeness last night, Italian turkey meatloaf. Don’t worry, I’ll share the recipe later this week. Ciao!
- Do you exercise the same year-round, or does it get kicked into high gear during bikini season?

My exercise habits really don’t alter that much from season to season. Same idea… maybe a little different here and there… but the basics never change.

Same here. A little more treadmill, a little less sidewalk – but same idea.

I don’t completely stop being active in the cold months, but it definitely takes a back seat sometimes. If it’s raining I don’t want to go out in it, but I might make up for it by a long hike on the weekend. I still try to get in walks/jogs, and arm workouts with my dumbbells. I just get tired earlier in the darker months and want to sleep like an hour earlier than I normally do in the summer.

I hear ya. I slow down a bit around the holidays when things get busy, and I have to travel. Coincidentally, that’s probably when I need to workout the most! ha

Agreed – I can be such a mirror whore in the free weight section. (hate to admit it… truth hurts. haha)

Nearly sweater weather? Jealous! It’s been full out coat and scarf weather here for the past week and tomorrow we’re even supposed to get snow. Bah! But my workouts don’t really change too much with the seasons. In the winter I get to go snowboarding, so I end up doing that a lot

I saw that “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” photo you posted. It made my weather not sound so bad!

I def pick things up during the spring and summer! The fall tends to be a lot more yoga
But I do like this arm workout you posted. I need to try it out!

I think it is the same for me year round really- I don’t exercise for good looking arms or whatever anyway, I want to be functional and healthy

Ha! “Sweater Arms”…love it! Somehow I think I might exercise more in the Winter as I’m usually trying to warm-up! Although, it is easy to get busted hiding behind baggy sweaters & coats!

I know what you mean. I’m more conscious of it when I’m in summer clothes, but I manage to stick to regular workouts all year.
