Empty House to Guest House

Kevin’s out of town, so I was living the single gal life last night.  After work, I hit the gym and even ran by by Trader Joe’s before dinner.  Yeah – single gals don’t have to rush home and fix dinner if they don’t want to.

That’s my TJ’s haul.  It has some of my new favorites.  That curry sauce is a must-try, and the high-protein tofu is the best tofu ever!  The frozen goodies say “turkey meatballs” on the bag, but they’re actually all-natural, pre-cooked amazeballs.  The best thing?  The price – the total bill came to $20.

Once home, I cooked up some plain turkey for a salad.  Single gals can have salads for dinner.  They can even use light dressing and add mushrooms.  I know – it’s crazy all up in here.

I even had control of the remote control.

But then reality set in.  I realized cats don’t make for good conversation.  I don’t like anything on tv.  And salad doesn’t quite cut it for dinner.  { Insert Chocolate Here }

Miss you Kevie!!!  Luckily, guests are coming this weekend to keep me company.  Though Michele won’t arrive until tomorrow, my mommy’s coming to visit today.  Woohoo!

  1. hahahaha… ah the single gal life. But yes, it’s true- I do what I want when I want. Never thought about what a luxury that really is…

  2. I did the same thing last night….had a nice healthy salad, and realized I was still damn hungry 30 minutes later.

    Insert sliced banana w/sunflower butter and nutella. My favorite dessert these days.

  3. You know how I love Trader Joe’s :)

    Im glad your momma is coming today!! Woot!

  4. I love that curry sauce from TJ’s over chicken. I used to make it years ago.

    Hmm…on t.v. I really like the show Parenthood.

  5. It’s been a while since I’ve had to adjust myself to someone else’s schedule, so I kind of take for granted how nice it is not to have to worry about having to rush home and make dinner or something similar. But it definitely has its drawbacks… I don’t even have a cat to try and converse with.

  6. At least you have people coming to visit! Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you :D

  7. Funny – i just said I can’t imagine ever living with someone… however, it would be cool to have someone to come home to. Or a cat. Whatever. I’ worked from home today and i’m getting punchy! :)

  8. Very glad I am not married. Love doing things on my own time :)

    The lady friend may beg to differ though…
