I hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was pretty good, but it was a bit… uhhhh… redneck.
I never have and never will call myself a “country girl,” but I can admit to having redneck tendencies, and a few of these redneck tendencies came to light on Saturday.

After my tempo run and morning yoga, I got to cleaning, and boy did I have the country music blaring. I found a great station on Pandora. It’s under the workout genre, and it’s called Country Fitness Radio. All rockin’ and no whining – that’s my kind of country!
Cleaning upstairs is difficult when your hubby has hunting gear strewn about the floor. Note: He’s gearing up for a hunting trip, so this is not normally out and about. I’m not thaaaat redneck.
After cleaning, I needed a little R&R. The laptop, my camouflage Budweiser visor, and I headed for the porch.
You might be a redneck if you stream ESPN college football on your computer while trying to catch a little sunshine in your bikini. (On a side note, Clemson won.)
After cleaning up and jumping in the car to run an errand, Freebird came on the radio. My previous car and I had a song, and that was it. Awww… memories! It made me miss “the Bird.” (Everyone has a song with their car right???)
I realize this post is a little different, but I wanted to show there’s more to me than running, kale, and craft beer. Not to worry, I want to share more about my workouts tomorrow, so we’ll be back to “normal” soon. ![]()
- Do you have any “redneck” tendencies?
- Have you and your car ever had a song?

You’re hilarious.
I think it’s completely awesome and normal to have some Redneck tendencies!! I love the Budweiser camouflage visor. Classic.
I like to wear “wife-beaters” around the house. Does that count? I love them. And, I’ve been known to go out in public in them too. muahahaha!

Yup, it totally counts!

I am going to try that station! I go to “Today’s Country Music” on Pandora but they are still a bit slow.
I am not country but my boyfriend is. He is from a tiny little town in VT. I love my country boy though. Adorable:-)

I totally agree; today’s country can get a little too depressing for me!

Hehe this makes me think of Jeff Foxworthy. He did a lot of “You might be a redneck if…” skits and they were freakin’ hilarious.
September 11, 2012 at 8:01 am
Agreed. That man made millions of those friggin jokes! Haha

I looovvvveee country music and have country girl tendencies, but I wouldn’t say red neck. Red neck has more of a negative connotation to me. lol.
I don’t have a song with my car, but I’m a little sad today because I’m selling my car of 7 years tonight! So many good memories…

Awwww! I hope your car got a good new home.

When I was in high school, I made out with my boyfriend in his deer stand. If that doesn’t say country romance, I don’t know what does…

I love me some country music, horses, and wide open spaces. So I would say I have some country tendencies…but I don’t wear camo, hunt, or fish….so not that many!

We definitely are a little bit country, but I’d have to say my husband has enough redneck tendencies for the both of us (& he’s proud of it too!)– he has a man cave in the shed and there are all sorts of animal things hanging out there and it is not unusual for a bunch of camo gear to be strewn all over the spare bedroom! And with hot cowboys like Luke Bryan out there, who wouldn’t want to have a little redneck in them?!

Country boys are adorable… in their own way.
haha

Streaming college football while sunning does NOT make you a redneck! The visor, on the other hand… LOL! JK – you are adorable.

I can’t read the title of this post unless it’s Jeff Foxworthy speaking in my head.
I love that you streamed football while sunbathing – that’s my kind of Saturday!!!
