Motivation Nosedive

My motivation has seriously taken a nosedive this week.  Anyone else?  I’ve been keeping up my workouts, well – except this morning.  I just didn’t feel like running in the dark today, so a run and a little runner yoga have been pushed back until after work.

Really though, that doesn’t mean I’ve wanted to work out.  Or clean up my house.  Or go to work.  (Okay, I never want to do those last two, but you get the idea.)  The week is just going by so slowly for me.

Are you in the same boat?  I hope not!

So what’s a girl to do?

 dumbbell  pump

Go to body pump.  That cheered me up yesterday.

Only do 6minutes of yoga instead of the planned 20.  (Stressing about fitting in yoga for relaxaion is just silly.)

Eat a Vitatop.  I went over my calorie “limit,” and I use that term very loosely, by 100 calories yesterday.  Sometimes a girl just needs chocolate.  (These are overpriced.  They’re convenient and tasty, but every time I eat one, I tell myself to never buy them again.  Call me Brittany because whoops, I did it again.)

On a side note…

I’ve been researching plant-based diets (vegan).  I’m not becoming a vegan, but I’m flirting with the idea of going vegan with benefits for just a wee bit.  It’s in response to this trash I’ve seen in the news this past week.

I was just about to start a high-protein diet too, so who knows where I’m going with this.  High-protein yet low-tummy ache vegan diet tips would be appreciated!  (Lentils, tempeh, and I don’t get along.)

  1. I just cracked up about the “whyyy???” That’s awesome.

Sorry the motivation has been lacking. I’m on autopilot because of this week’s crazy busy schedule, but I assume this weekend I’ll be shutting down for a rest…

I had a bummer of an early week, but it’s definitely turning around. Keeping the weekend in site helps ;D And I’ve found that lentils bother my stomach UNLESS I cook them really, really well. Rinse and soak overnight, rinse again, and then cook with extra liquid and for way longer than recommended. I mean, you get smush, but it’s happy tummy smush for me.

  3. Hate those weeks that drag… but they pass, and we have a long weekend coming up so maybe the extra time to recharge will pump you up for next week. As for vegan protein… eeeeeeeh… It’s not something I’ve ever done well on either, so I don’t think I can offer any advice :(

  4. This week is going by slow for me too… the week after vacation is always slow!

I am definitely a selectatarian. No way could I do vegan, I don’t know how they do it?!

Nothing cheers you up like a vitatop, love it! mmm

  6. Def. don’t stress about fitting in yoga! haha, that just defeats the purpose of yoga, but it sounds like you know that.

Yes, I think the week has been going by somewhat slowly in anticipation of the 3-day weekend.

  7. I’ve been dealing with waning motivation to get my workouts in since completely my first half marathon in June. I think it’s because I was following a training plan for so long, I’m a little lost now. I’m trying to create a plan to get back on track as well as add in new exercises, like hot yoga. Good luck to you!

  8. Happy to say I’m not in a slump right now, whew marathon training is going ok.

I agree that sometimes you have to nix a workout and just be ok with it. I think when you have been active for so long you are pretty in tune with your body and it could be saying a break is better than any yoga session.

  9. I love that you included “boy” :)

I could never be vegan. I need my cheese.
