I am still in awe of Prague. This city really exceeded my expectations, and I’m so happy Kevin and I had the opportunity to see (and taste) it.
The architecture was beyond beautiful; it was bountiful! One would expect beauty in Old Town Square…
or the Royal Palace’s cathedral (St. Vitus Cathedral)…
But it kept going! Also, as with many major European cities, the history was fascinating. Our tour books filled us in on the medieval times, but our tour guides filled us in on more recent history, including life under the communist government.
I’d recommend this city to anyone, but I think experienced travelers would fare better than newbies. The language isn’t as “pick it up as you go” as Spanish, German, French, or Italian. Tourist sites are easy enough to find, but street names change frequently at intersections. It makes finding restaurants or less-traveled sites a little difficult to find.
Of course I’d recommend this city to beer drinkers. Czechs love their pilsner! However, I was not a fan of Moravian wine. I know the wine is still somewhat up-and-coming, but I don’t know it will ever come up quite enough for me. Kevin was slightly more impressed with it. Of course, who cares about the wine when there are so many other impressive things about this area!
K… thanks for following along. To wrap it up, I want to mention 3 really impressive restaurants, Maitrea (amazing vegetarian food), U Medvidku (great goulash and decent micropub), and Cestr (great local meats).

Prague looks beautiful! I was only able to make it as far as the airport for a few hours, but hopefully the next time I am in Europe I will be able to stay longer. It is definitely on my list.
