Well, my weekend was much needed. Sadly, I think I need a vacation from my vacation. Quick Recap:
- Friday: drove to Greenville, SC and stayed out much too late with friends
- Saturday: bbq party for late lunch, stop by the pool, grilling out with friends for dinner, and out again
- Sunday: home from Greenville, then pizza and sitting out with neighbors at night
- Monday: grilling out party with neighbors
By Monday, I didn’t really want to think of attending another BBQ, but I took one for the team because I like chillin’ in the neighborhood.
The weekend was a blast, but my waistline definitely suffered the consequences. When I work out hard, I fell empowered. I feel strong <- not just physically, but mentally. Now that I haven’t been working out so hard, I’ve felt my willpower and confidence dropping, so it’s time to give my bod a good kick in the rear.
I’m ready to do something about it. Here’s a sample meal plan:
- Breakfast: berry parfait
- Snack 1: 10 almonds and fruit
- Lunch: Greek salad (no cheese + healthy fat dressing) and pita
- Snack: protein shake and veggies
- Dinner: any healthy combo of lean protein, slow-burn carbs, and extra veggies (approx 400 cal)
Though I’m not quite back to my workouts yet, I’m going to push it just a little harder. For instance, I should be swimming 2-3 days per week, not 1. I hate swimming, but when that’s the only cardio you can do, sometimes you’ve just got to suck it up and dive in.
I’m ready to pump it up – who’s with me??? (By the way, if you ever feel that you need a little support, feel free to tweet me or shoot me an email. It’s amazing how cohesive an online network can be.)

I feel you on this! We went to dinner on Friday, then ate heavy on Saturday, then out on Sunday, then cookout on Monday, and my body is not loving it. I’m ready for a mega workout this morning, and some clean eating all day!

Um that pool and you look fabulous! That’s what I’m talking about, that counts as swimming. I loathe swimming and when I was tri training it was pure torture.
I seriously need to get my bikini body in check, I’m with you!

Ha, this weekend doesn’t look like it was TOO far off track for you. I was lucky (unlucky?) enough to stay in town this weekend, which really reduced the temptations a lot, so this weekend was mostly spent relaxing. And cooking my first whole chicken. Considering it was in a slow cooker, that was pretty relaxing, too.
Good luck (the parfaits sound tasty).

I was really naughty this weekend too but I have pretracked all my meals this week and plan on really busting my booty during work out times

The beginning of summer has meant I’ve given in to beers and nachos one too many times lately. I am hoping to kick my workouts and meal plans up a notch and get back on track. In Canada we savour our few months of hot weather by living it up, but I can’t forget that summer also means I’ll be seen in a bathing suit very often!

I’m with you! Although I didn’t have as much BBQ, I had Mexican at every meal this weekend while in San Antonio … I need to kick my butt into gear and get back on track, like you! And we can totally do it

I am totally with you! I have been eating out way too much + not working out enough which means that I’ve been seriously lacking energy. Thanks for the motivational boost!

I am in the same boat with the swimming. I should be doing that instead of short runs… but I really hate it. I was meant to laying out with a frozen concoction. LOL!

I have never tried swimming as my cardio for the day but I heard its the toughest workout.
Sitting by the pool > working out

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like I need vacations from vacations! lol At least we’re living it up

I feel the same way! I can’t get my butt off the couch most day and I can’t stop eating!!
I want in on the support group! I don’t understand why I can’t drink beer and eat lots of carbs and stay skinny!! Its not fair!!

I fell into the same trap this weekend! I had a run to do, but somehow, it got pushed to Monday because I was out too late on both Saturday and Sunday. I am back in my groove, but I hate how I feel when I know I’ve neglected my body and my good eating habits!
I’m always here for motivation too, love!

I’m with you girl. I just made it back to my gym today for the first time in FAR too long. It actually felt pretty good, until I bailed on the last 5 minutes on the arc because I was lightheaded. Baby steps….

You got this! I know what you mean though. I am ALL for indulgent weekends but I do love getting back into the swing of things as well.
