Well, here’s that mini announcement I mentioned yesterday. I’m taking a blog hiatus. It’s not goodbye forever. I’m not even sure how long it will last, but I still thought y’all might want a heads up.
I might miss blogging so much that I ‘m back by Monday, or I might take a whole month off from posting. I think I’ll most likely just post sporadic recipes, workouts, travels, and WIAWs until I get my blog groove back.
Here’s why:
1. I feel like a poser. Though I try to be very up-front about my activities, I’ve been feeling a little guilty lately writing a “healthy living blog” when my eats and drinks looked something like this over the weekend.
trip to the local brewery followed by very cheesy Mexican food for dinner
Sure, I still workout and eat well through the week, and I plan for a healthier upcoming weekend. I just don’t want to paint the wrong picture. Unlike the major mass media, I have a conscience.

2. I need to heal. My hip still hurts a bit, and my body is a bit sore. Y’all know I push myself, and in order to keep pushing myself, I need the time to ice myself when needed and to perform at-home physical therapy so I can get back to running ASAP. Morning workouts and evening healing don’t leave much time for writing.
gotta work it to keep workin it
3. Lastly, my arms don’t always belong stretched out to my laptop. I know some buddies who deserve them more.

So be sure to follow me via twitter and email so that you know when I post something new. Remember, I’m not leaving; I’m just taking a break. (I love my blogging buddies waaaaay too much to just fall off the map!)

I think it’s great you’re taking some time for yourself to heal and be with those you love– so much more important than blogging
I’ll miss you girl!! Enjoy the hiatus and your weekend!!!

Enjoy the time off. I think it’s hard for a lot of us to figure out where exactly we fit in when it comes to the healthy living community. Just remember, we all have our definition of “healthy”. I heart sugar and I occasionally love me some bar food and beer. But I still consider myself healthy with the balance/lifestyle I’ve set for myself. There’s a niche here for everyone.
And posting every day is a hassle. I hear ya. And have slowly stepped back to 4ish posts a week versus 5 or 6. It’s much easier.
Good luck resting up and I’m hoping to hear from you again soon!

Enjoy your time off! I’m sure there will come a time when I feel the need to do the same thing!
March 30, 2012 at 8:19 am
Awww I’ll miss your blogging! I feel the same way about my blog which is why I really don’t categorize myself as a “healthy living blogger” anymore, but rather a “lifestyle blogger” – balancing healthy living with real life as a lifestyle! Enjoy your time off, and I’ll see you on Twitter!
March 30, 2012 at 8:30 am
I think breaks from blogging are totally necessary! Enjoy yours girl! We will all still be here when you get back!
March 30, 2012 at 8:41 am
Hurry back!!
March 30, 2012 at 10:17 am
boooo
Totally understandable. We will miss you! Don’t be gone too long, and I hope your hip gets better soon!
March 30, 2012 at 10:20 am
I feel like this all the time, so I just post 3-4 times a week, rather than every day. Every day just seems like too much work on top of a full time job and other household responsibilities. Enjoy the time off, and I’ll be waiting for your next post.
March 30, 2012 at 2:50 pm
Thanks! And yeah, 3-4 sounds much more manageable.

Hi there Tiff. Don’t worry, we all need a break now and then. We will all be here when you decided to come back – wether it be a day or a week or a month. You push your self SO hard all the time in your workouts…breathe – enjoy your beers and stop worrying about being a poser. No one is perfect….thats not what blogging is about anyways girl. Life means working out so you can have the beer and fries. You are still a super healthy living awesome chica….
xoxo from Houston

Thanks! That means a lot.
March 30, 2012 at 10:47 am
Enjoy your time off
I’ll miss your posts but totally understand where you are coming from!! I’ve been slacking a lot lately for the same reasons
March 30, 2012 at 11:01 am
Totally understand!
I’ll still be here reading when you come back!
March 30, 2012 at 1:04 pm
I totally understand and your blog is your blog! But I hope you know that I have NEVER once thought you were “falsely marketing” yourself as a healthy living blogger because you have some fun times on the weekends. In fact, that’s what I like about you! You love sweat AND beer. They go hand in hand, right?
March 30, 2012 at 2:37 pm
I would definitely have to agree with you on that!
March 30, 2012 at 3:55 pm
Aww we will miss you! It’s definitely understandable because sometimes we all just need a break. Enjoy yourself and heal away! And I just read Caitlin’s comment, and I completely agree
March 30, 2012 at 5:54 pm
Enjoy your time off!! You deserve it!!
I know what you mean. It can be tough to balance everything.
I’ll keep following your tweets!!
March 30, 2012 at 6:04 pm
Oh no! I will miss your blog but I 1000% understand. I quit mine recently. I loved blogging and I miss it now, but it felt like the right thing to do given the circumstances in my life.
One of the reason, I love blogs is because they make me feel normal for my transgressions. All the comments on my blog would make me see that I need to give myself a break, one cheeseburger doesn’t mean I’m off the healthy eating train for good.
Good luck and keep on tweeting (I use twitter as my blog replacement and I’m sort off addicted now.)

Enjoy your time off! Keep tweeting us

April 1, 2012 at 7:15 am
Enjoy your time off love! And don’t worry your not a poser! None of us bloggers are perfect (I for one am FARRR from it!! ;D) but I do understand how hard it can be to be a ‘healthy living’ blogger when you are feeling less than your best! Take some time to kick back and relax and we will be here when you get back!
April 1, 2012 at 11:55 am
I will miss you but enjoy your time off. I look forward to your return!!
April 2, 2012 at 5:07 am
Nothing but love and respect. We’ll be here. I am proud you are taking care of “you” and you’re honest. Of course I’ll miss your updates but can’t wait for you to come back even stronger.
April 5, 2012 at 4:48 pm
Thanks so much! That means a lot.
April 2, 2012 at 10:19 am
I know EXACTLY how you feel. My body screamed at me this past week and this weekend’s eats were… deliciously unhealthy. Enjoy your free time and come back soon! xo
April 2, 2012 at 12:56 pm
I can definitely relate. Take all the time you need- I’ll be reading whenever you get back
April 3, 2012 at 4:16 pm
Listen to your body and keep taking rest as long as you need it! It’s not slacking, it’s preparing for the next challenge
April 4, 2012 at 8:57 am
Take the time girl and do not feel bad about it at all! Life is too short, enjoy the time to heal and spend lots of time with your loves!

Thanks so much! You rock.
A perfect example of why the blogging community is so awesome
April 5, 2012 at 11:22 am
I hope you returned healed and refreshed! However, I don’t think that beer and Mexican make you an unfit healthy living blogger. In fact, I think it shows that living life and having fun is part of the balance
April 5, 2012 at 3:47 pm
have fun taking some time off! it can be great!
April 10, 2012 at 8:16 pm
Hope you are enjoying a blog break. It’s so crazy to feel pressured to write when the whole reason we blog is for our own personal enjoyment! I totally felt the strain of not being there for the REAL people in my life! I think it is inspiring that you are taking time for yourself to work on what’s important. I also think it’s refreshing to see a HLB be real and show that sometimes we aren’t always perfect in our eating! Though you can afford it, girl! You are gorgeous. Looking forward to having you back.
April 11, 2012 at 8:25 pm
Thanks Luv! I hope to be back sooner than later.
