WIAW

Before jumping into the food, I want to give a quick re-cap of yesterday’s workout. I really prefer the elliptical, but yesterday I did 45 minutes on the bike instead. My feet are really giving me fits, so I’m going to bike for a while to give them a break. Well, except today. I am about to go run the treadmill for 30 minutes before completing my leg workout. Let’s hope it goes well!

Now… onto the eats! First breakfast is half a pear. These pears are so small though that I may have to add some almonds or something. Second breakfast is the other half of the pear and a TBS of pb on an English muffin.

Delish! I’ve been having a snack before lunch, which is just a rice cake. Lame. Lunch is a bit more interesting. It’s chopped veggies over romaine topped with 2% shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 16 grams of roast sunflower seeds, and 2 TBS of TJ’s light champagne vinaigrette.

I’m not a big fan of having salads for lunch, but this one’s pretty good. Plus, I have extra motivation to have a salad every day for lunch this week. I’ll fill you in on that tomorrow.
My afternoon snack consists of sliced veggies and 4 TBS hummus. I know that’s a lot of hummus, but it’s so goooood.
snack attackSadly, because I had snack ridiculously early, I splurged on some vending machine pretzels later in the day.

Last night I had TJ’s Latin Style Black Bean soup for dinner. I was running off for a jewelry party and needed something quick (and preferably easy). This may have been paired with a few spicy flax tortilla chips.

I had a glass of wine at the jewelry party. I really couldn’t stay long and was only trying to make an appearance, so I stuck to one. Plus, who wants to get all liquored up and buy an ugly piece of jewelry? Not this girl! Gotta tighten the belt for Black Friday shopping!

  7. I cannot resist getting Skittles if I hit the vending machine. Definitely not healthy, but there is much worse I think. ;) Cleo is such a classy kitty!

  9. I think hummus is one of those foods that’s soooo hard to stop at 1 serving. I think 1/4 cup should be the serving :)

    Best thing I ate lately was dinner last night…homemade roasted tomato soup and a grilled cheese. So simple, but it totally hit the spot!

  10. Best thing I ate.. hmm.. Last night’s dinner was pretty bang-o-rang, Salmon with lemon-herb sauce.

    Let me know what your bike workout consists of because I am already totally bored with my bike routine….

  12. Best thing I’ve eaten lately was the lasagna I made on Sunday night for dinner. I wish there were more leftovers…

    We don’t have a vending machine at work for snacks, but I think you made a good choice with pretzels!

  14. I’m not a huge vending machine person, and we don’t have any around my work but in law school doritos were my weakness!!

    The best thing I’ve eaten lately …. hmm … I think my splurge on jalepeno chips may be then answer to that :)

  15. My breakfast this morning was pretty STELLAR and has kept me full through my morning clients. High-Fives! Greek yogurt, 1 c blackberries, vanilla & cinnamon, and a nice handful of Costco’s homemade granola. OH SO GOOD! It is a sweet tooth fix for me and is just awesome. :)

  16. Best thing I’ve eaten lately are these organic chicken sausages I bake and throw on a salad..Mmm… :)

  17. I love hummus! Have you tried pretzels dipped in hummus? I usually take a snack with me but if I had to use the vending I’d probably pic pretzels too. I hope your foot feels better!

  18. Again, I love how you have a drink every now and then and post about it. I hardly ever see alcohol on healthy living blogs. But, the fact is it can be enjoyed in moderation. And, even though I typically (although there certainly are exceptions!) have a drink during the week I absolutely love wine/beer and appreciate seeing it here.

  21. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks 2 tbsp of hummus is NOT enough. Psh. What a tiny serving. I eat like 1/3 cup at once hahaha

  23. Your food looks delicious. :) I don’t have a vending machine go-to snack since I’m rarely by vending machines these days. I stay close to my well-stocked pantry. Not a good thing sometimes. :)

  24. I love those flax seed chips…they make the long drive to TJ’s worth it (an hour and half).
