Go Tigers!

This weekend my Tigers did not disappoint. Clemson had a great game, and I had a great weekend. I tried a new beer, ate a healthy dinner, and relaxed with friends on Friday. Saturday was a bit more exciting and included significant tailgating. I’ll spare you all the nitty-gritty details, but there was some of this

and too much of this (okay… all of it).

Mellow Mushroom calzone

Although I had a great time in Clemson, I took some time Sunday to recount my indulgences***. I discovered that I ate/drank twice the calories I normally eat/drink on a weekday. (By the way, dinner was paired with a Victory Hop Devil.)

Since I often indulge on weekends, I’m not floored by this discovery, but it was still an eye-opener for me. I don’t regret eating my weight in calzone because it really was that delicious, but I hope to be more mindful of my splurges in the future.

To help heal my veggie-starved, fat-stuffed body, Sunday was a bit healthier. I drank water and coconut water to combat the sodium of Saturday’s treats. I also ate my greens.

The dinner above was friggin’ awesome. I had been drooling over that salad dressing in the store for a while now, and I’m so glad I finally bought it. The salad included spinach, dressing, half a pear, and cashews. As you can see, I added a side of French bread.

How was your weekend? Did your team win too?

Nothing beats a football kinda weekend! Looks like it was so much fun! :D

  2. It looks like you had a fab time!

  3. I’ve not had a calzone in ages. Of course I eat enough pizza to make up for missing out on the calzone ;-)

  4. Sounds like a great weekend! I think it’s smart that you recount your indulgences, but I also wouldn’t worry about it too much if you aren’t doing it all the time!

  5. I don’t watch sports but if I did….GO BROWNS! I heard hey won yesterday!

  6. I bought that dressing last year from TJ’s and was super excited about it. Then I forgot to refrigerate it after opening and went to use it a few weeks later and almost gagged. It had gone horribly bad! I was pissed!

Aw what a fun weekend!! My team didn’t win this weekend, they won in a very disappointing way actually!! Haha. Glad yours did though!

  8. Fun weekend =) That is one of my all time favorite dressings!! Seriously I can’t stand the shelf-stable dressings anymore… love the refrigerated ones at TJ’s too much.. spoiled… <3 the cranberry walnut one, spicy peanut and that pear vinaigrette.

  9. I actually watched the Clemson game (mostly because roommates had it on in the background). No calzone involved, which I feel would have made things even better….

  10. My weekend was pretty awesome as well!! And yes! My team won too (also Tigers)!!

  11. Your weekend looks great! I believe my gopher’s won but my Vikings lost!

  12. I like that dressing, too! I know I eat/drink a lot more on the weekends, too, but I rarely count up how much more. I will if I’m consciously trying to lose weight, but if I’m maintaining I figure a few days of indulgences isn’t the worst thing as long as my clothes still fit!

  13. Looks like you had fun…and thats really what life is all about! :-) The calzone looked delicious…

  14. My weekends often get ugly quick when it comes to indulging. But that’s why I work pretty hard during the week to keep myself in line. Also, what fun is life if you can’t go enjoy yourself with great company, food and drink?

  24. I do the same thing on the weekends… it’s frustrating sometimes after I work so hard all week, but it’s SO much fun. :) And I love Victory. Have you tried Wild Heaven?
